Use scanned maps
You are a user of NoniGPSPlot for Windows Mobile, NoniMapView, MapSlip, MapCorr, read the end of this article.Example of a simple map
In this example, I will base myself on IGN sample available onhttp://professionnels.ign.fr/scan1000
In the end we need :
- The map picture file : SC1000_0050_6580_L93.tif (png, jpg ou tif)
- The calibration file : SC1000_0600_6580_L93.tfw (this could also be a .map)
If you do not have a calibration file, you can create it with eMapZone - NoniMapImport
Start NoniMapImport,
Clic on 'Add' to add the (or several) maps,
By selecting a card you can change some parameters such as projection or zoom levels to generate.
Select the destination folder,
Enter the group name (this is the name that will appear in the list of Main cards) in NoniGPSPlot,
And click 'Start Import'

In the destination folder, you get:
- NoniGPSPlot
- maps
- other
- Group name
- Les dalles...
- Group name
- other
- maps
Transfer maps to your SmartPhone
Android KitKat forced me to complicate things: In the configuration window, note the 'Folder to' other 'cards. With the Pro version, this file can be freely selected. In this example, we see the folder /storage/sdcard/Android/obb/nonidev.gpsplot/maps/other
We find the same folder on your SmartPhone

You must copy the contents of the 'other' created by the corresponding NoniMapImport on your SmartPhone.
It is then possible to choose your card from the list. This is a Main card and can be combined.

Example with 4 different zoom
In this example I downloaded with NoniMapView the map of the region of Nice zoom 14, 12, 10 and 8In the end I have:
- 4 map images (nice-14.jpg,-12.jpg nice, nice-10.jpg, nice-08.jpg)
- 4 calibration files (nice-14.map, nice-12.map, nice-10.map, nice-08.map)
Start NoniMapImport,
Click 'Add' to add the 4 maps,
As I unchecked the 'Fix maps for NoniGPSPlot' option in NoniMapView, the maps use the projection system of Google. Select all the cards and choose Google Map as projection (otherwise, it would leave Linear).

By clicking on the maps you see zooms they will generate for Android (zoom 7 and 8 for nice -08, zoom 9 and 10 for nice-10, zoom 11 and 12 for nice-12 and zoom 13 and 14 for nice-14).
You can change but must not overlap.

Click on 'Start Import'
Copy NoniGPSPlot directory on your smartphone and merge it with the existing directory.
It is then possible to choose your map from the list and NoniGPSPlot will charge tiles corresponding to zoom the view.

You used NoniMapView to download your maps
In this case it would be better to redownload your maps unchecking the 'Fix maps for NoniGPSPlot' in the Project Setup menu, and the option 'Split' .NoniGPSPlot for Android and Windows Mobile do not use the same projection system, if you use the maps directly from the Windows version, there will be a huge loss of quality.
If you have not cleared the cache directory of NoniMapView, it should be very fast.
NoniGPSPlot includes a download tool, check if it is not easier to use ...
